In an effort to minimize environmental impact Glacier Lookout is only available in day blocks and not by the day. Reservations made under a year in advance can reserve the following blocks Monday through Wednesday, Wednesday through Friday, and Friday through Monday. Exceptions are Monday and Tuesday reservations can be booked for one night if your party is hiking both in and out.
Reservations made over a year in advance will need to be stays of at least one week.
Reservations between the dates of Feb 1 - April 15 must be in week long Monday to Monday increments. This is to reduce risk of disturbing mountain goat kidding, and nursery habitat.
Alaskan residents can reserve available blocks less than a month out as a basic stay at a 20% discount. A valid Alaska drivers license will be required before departing to the lookout.
Valdez residents can reserve available blocks less than 2 weeks out as a basic stay at a 40% discount, or comfort with a 30% discount. A valid Alaska driver's license with a Valdez address will be required before departing to the lookout.
